Hello, I’m Timo, a 31-year-old tennis enthusiast who has been playing this incredible sport since the age of 9. Tennis has been a part of my life since I can remember.
My parents sent me to a tennis camp during the summer vacations and I fell in love with the sport immediately. I was definitely not the most talented and certainly not the best tennis player but weekly tennis training was still part of my life from the summer of 2000 until today.
As I got older, my love for tennis intensified even more and I started watching pro matches on TV, learning about the latest equipment and technology, wanting to improve my own game and learn as much as I could about the sport.
By the time I was 20, you could definitely call me addicted to tennis and I started playing even more regularly, going to the gym (for tennis), going running every free minute and playing a tournament every weekend.
That’s when I got the idea to start a tennis blog. I wanted to create a place where I could share everything I learned. A website for tennis players, by a tennis player, where you can find valuable information, tips and advice for players of all skill levels. And so my tennis blog, fourtylove, was born.
Over the years, my blog has evolved and I’ve written about everything from the best tennis shoes and racquets to the latest tennis technology and fitness tips. I’ve also had the opportunity to interview some great players and coaches, which has been a dream come true for me.
For me, tennis is not just a sport, it’s a way of life. It has given me so much, from the friendships I have made on the court to the lessons I have learned about hard work, perseverance and dedication. Even my now wife, I met on the tennis court. ❤️👩🦱
I hope that with my blog, I can help you get all your questions answered about the tennis world.
In October 2023, I filmed a tennis camp at the Robinson Club Apulia in Italy and played Padel for the first time there. Fast forward -> I now spend the whole day thinking about Viboras and Bandejas, play Padel several times a week, and am currently ranked #300 in Germany with a Playtomic rating of +5.20.
Even more than with tennis, I immediately noticed with Padel that there are no decent resources for Padel rackets, and I thought to myself, “I can do that better!”
You can find the most comprehensive Padel racket tests at fourtylove.com/en/padel/, and I hope that I can help you and your Padel game with that.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my journey through the tennis world. I hope you enjoy my blog and find it helpful in your own tennis journey.
