The new HEAD Boom comes in the usual asymmetrical HEAD look and offers as an eye-catching highlight a “moderate” cyan, which is found from the handle to the racket heart and on the inside in the racket head.
All other materials are kept black and make the HEAD Boom an absolute eye-catcher which fits very well into the look of the HEAD racket family.
TECHNOLOGY
Packed with old but also new technology, the HEAD Boom is the first racket to feature the new AUXETIC technology. AUXETIC is designed to give players more confidence in their shots by reacting to the stroke in real time. In addition, the HEAD Boom brings a mix of new and re-branded technologies including Directional Drilling, Power Grommets, Morph Beam and Uni Pattern.
AUXETIC expands under “pulling” forces and contracts when squeezed. The logic HEAD is hoping for here is that racquets with AUXETIC will adjust their structure at impact, depending on stroke hardness and impact point in the stringbed. AUXETIC is located in the 6 o’clock position in the racquet frame.
The Uni Pattern is a conventional “normal” string pattern that supports the same trajectory on every stroke and allows for a more confident feel resulting in fewer unforced errors.
Directional drilling enables more power transmission.
Morph Beam describes the construction of the frame, which consists of an elongated box beam shaft, bringing a mix of maneuverability and touch.
Power Grommets are grommets that have been enlarged to give the strings more room to move, in turn generating more power transfer.
Graphene has been built into the frame of HEAD rackets for years to provide more stability and a very comfortable feel.
